Glyphosate Applied 5 Days Before Planting

Glyphosate Applied 5 Days Before Planting Glyphosate was applied 5 days before planting. The seedbed was prepared with repeated discing. The seedbed is less than ideal with lots of clods and green trashy residue. To overcome the poor seedbed condition we applied more than the recommended seed, and used multiple varieties of seed. We planted mainly clover and chicory, along with a little rape, radish and purple top turnips. If we do not get a good stand of clover and chicory we will treat this plot as an annual food plot and re-seed next spring.

Deer Food Plot 2012 - Rape with Turnips and Radishes Deer Food Plot sprayed with Glyphosate in early June on untilled soil. This soil was disced in early July and planted with primarily rape, with a little radish and purple top turnip seed included. This seed bed was far superior to the seedbeds where glyphosate was only applied a week prior to tillage.
